The Salvation Army has two kinds of thrift stores. The primary, found in larger cities, are the stores that are part of the Adult Rehabilition system. These stores are operated by the local Adult Rehabilition Center, which has a large program working with people addicted to drugs and alcohol. The money raised is used to support this recovery system.

The second type of thrift store, located in areas that are not covered by one of the large centers, is operated by, and for, the benefit of the local Salvation Army program. These programs can be anything from rehabilition programs to operation of a local youth program. Simply put, the money raised helps support the local program in its varied forms.

The end result, no matter which type of store you donate to, or purchase from, all money raised helps The Salvation Army continue to offer programs that benefit the entire community.

Note that this list does not include stores operated by the large Adult Rehabilition Center Command in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. Check your telephone book for stores in those areas.
