June, a Salvation Army Soldier out of the Uxbridge Corps in London, was in her earlier career part of NATO police forces. For the last 18 years, she was a care giver and served her family well. She was a purely motivated communicator who set the standard for SATERN in Europe and was a great asset to the entire SATERN program. She passed traffic to Europe and back during major disaster events during the 90's and up through Katrina of 2005 and continued to organize SATERN and enhance its relationships with emergency communication groups right up to the last. After Katrina, June wrote an article for, "Radioactive," a European radio periodical, which truly reflected the good work of SATERN and amateur radio during the Katrina response and was, a superb article that we use to this day to promote emergency radio potential in disaster.
